Update (POST EVENT): 31 MARCH 2001

SUCCESS!!!!

The inaugural ATMBC has become the world’s first major international freeride mountain bike event and all reviews are positive.

The weather in the alpine town of Jindabyne turned on ideal conditions over the three-day event, there were no major injuries (everybody walked away…a few limps, but definitely walking), the media were impressed and the sponsors and spectators want more!Television coverage in Australia was massive with footage appearing on every free to air network in Australia including Seven, Ten, Nine, SBS, ABC and Fox Sports. Segments of the ATMBC were televised every day from Friday 23 March through to Tuesday 27 March.

Print media reviews have promised to be extensive with all three Australian national bike magazines confirming editorial features and Australia’s leading sport magazine, Inside Sport, printing a seven page spread.

Radio coverage included three separate interviews on ABC, multiple coverage on local radio stations and two separate interviews on Triple J.

Half hour television special confirmed

Fox Sports Australia has confirmed that the half-hour television production of the ATMBC will be broadcast on 18 May on Fox Sports Extreme at 5pm. A second broadcast is confirmed, however dates are still to be released.

There is also a chance the half hour special will appear on free-to-air television…stay tuned for updates.
